SCHOOL DISCIPLINE

I really don’t understand why this isn’t more of a news story.

No … wait. Of course I understand.  Someone might call someone a raaaaaaaacist!  And we can’t have that, can we?

            OK .. here’s the deal.  Our criminally incompetent attorney general, Eric Holder, is upset about school discipline.  To be more precise, he’s upset that more black students, especially black males, are being disciplined by government school administrators than white.  Holder wants us to believe that, for instance, if 40 percent of the student body at a government schools is black, then no more than 40 percent of the discipline cases should be brought against black students.  If more than 40 percent of the discipline cases are brought against blacks, then it just has to be racism, right?

            It’s sad, but there are plenty of folks out there who can’t figure this out.  We call them the dumb masses.  There is no guarantee that black students, or white students for that matter, are going to violate the rules in their government schools exactly in proportion to their percentage of the student body.  In fact, I think it’s safe to say that statistics would, more often than not, show that black students – particularly black males – will be far more likely to violate the rules then whites.  Sorry .. but facts is facts … and the culture of violence rules in many of our schools, especially the urban ones, as well.  Now if you happen to have some statistics that prove me wrong --- statistics which show that black students are no more likely to become discipline problems than white or Asian students --- then bring it on.  Show me your numbers.  If you make your case I’ll apologize right here.  But you and I both know there is no way you’re going to be able to do that.

            If that idiot Holder gets his way, where will we go from there?  Well, how about straight to more chaos in our government schools?  Are you telling me that these black students aren’t soon going to figure out that they pretty much have a free reign to misbehave and create havoc in the schools because discipline is now being run on a quota system?

            By the way … what have you done today to promote the cause of school choice, or to get your kids out of our hideous government schools?  If the answer is nothing, then you have some self-examining to do.
